Delete Application load balancer

Once your load balancer is set up, you start getting billed for each hour it's active. If you no longer need the load balancer, you can delete it. Deleting the load balancer stops the charges associated with it. Importantly, removing the load balancer doesn't affect the targets linked to it. For instance, your EC2 instances will still be running even after you delete the load balancer following the steps below.

To delete your load balancer:

1. Go to the Amazon EC2 console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/ec2/.
2. In the navigation pane, under Load Balancing, select Load Balancers.
3. Choose the checkbox for the load balancer, click on Actions, and then select Delete.
4. When asked for confirmation, choose Yes, Delete.
